» Platinum Card From American Express Review
The Platinum Card from American Express is a luxury credit card and you must have excellent credit to qualify for the card. American Express charges $450.00 annually for the privilege to own this card. Is the card worth the annual fee? That depends on whether you travel extensively and whether the kinds of rewards offered by American Express are something you will use. The Platinum credit card from American Express is a charge card not a credit card as you have to pay the full amount of your debt each month. The card is targeted at the well-heeled individual who is looking for the “platinum lifestyle” and exclusive travel privileges.

General American Express benefits
Benefits provided with most American Express cards include 24 hour travel assistance service called Global Assist 24-7 when you are traveling at least 100 miles from home. This assistance can be used to get a new passport, find a doctor or get you legal assistance or any other emergency travel need. You are also covered by travel accident insurance if traveling on a ‘common carrier conveyance’ such as a plane, train, ship, helicopter or bus if you paid for the ticket with your Platinum card. If you rent a car you are also covered by the card for loss or damage to the car if paid for with your Platinum card. If you do a lot of shopping with your Platinum card it is good to know that anything you bought using the card will be covered by the company’s Purchase Protection plan. Anything bought that is lost, stolen or damaged within 90 days of purchase is covered by the Platinum card from American Express.
