ABNB Federal Credit Union Visa Platinum Reward Credit Card Review
It can be a very wise move to choose a rewards credit card with a credit union, as you get both rewards for your purchases and highly competitive rates of interest. The ABNB Federal Credit Union is now offering a Visa Platinum Reward credit card; this guide explores this credit card and payment options for existing card owners.
Visa Platinum Reward Credit Card
This credit card combines an attractive rewards scheme and highly reasonable interest rates and terms, so you can earn points as you spend and take benefit from no transaction fees and no balance transfer fees.
ABNB Credit Card Rewards
ABNB have partnered with UChoose Rewards to offer points-based rewards with this credit card. Many credit unions across the U.S. provide UChoose Rewards, and this scheme gives you access to a massive range of rewards, such as holidays and adventuring, gift cards, event tickets and much more. This card offers you points as you spend, and you can check with the UChoose Rewards website to see the amount of points you need to achieve the many different rewards available.
Interest Rates and Fees
This card comes with an annual fee of $25, unless you make more than 6 transactions or spend over $500 in 12 months, which makes the annual fee easily avoidable. Late payment fees and overlimit fees are a maximum of $25. The grace period is 25 days. If you pay off your purchases in full within the grace period you pay no interest.

Searching for the Citi Dividend Platinum Select Visa Card? We would all like to see our money go a little further, or at least to feel like it is not constantly being spent on bills, and it would be nice to sometimes keep some of our hard earned cash in the bank or in our pockets. The Citi Dividend Platinum Select Visa is a fantastic cash back credit card that rewards you for your purchases, and allows you to earn a little money back.
Obviously the best thing to look for in cash back cards is how the rewards scheme is broken down, but often it is very easy to get bogged down in the semantics of what is on offer. With the Citi Dividend Platinum Select the cash back rewards are easy to understand and are set out as follows:
Earn 5% cash back on certain purchases from the retail sector such as supermarkets, petrol stations and drug stores for six months (This is reduced to 1% after the six month introduction)
Earn 1% cash back on all other purchases.
Earn 2% cash back on, This is a rebate on purchases and is implemented on a quarterly rotation. These categories range from groceries to travel.
Some of the basic terms and features offered by the Dividend Platinum Select include:
No annual fee
APR on purchases starting at 5.99%
0% APR on balance transfers for up to 12 months from transfer date
Balance transfer fee will apply
This allows the cardholder to know exactly where they are in terms of cash back and money spent, although a major drawback is that there is a $300 annual cap on the dollars you can earn. So those looking for a higher rewards scheme may want to look elsewhere to fulfill their needs. If you wish to keep on earning while you purchase, it is possible to get an identical card from Citi after you reach the $300 limit.
The Citi Dividend Platinum Select comes with an introductory period of 0% APR on balance transfers, and more importantly purchases. The length of time offered is determined by your credit score; currently the Citicard website states it as seven months, although fifteen months is possible as an introductory period. This makes the Citi Dividend Platinum Select a fantastic option for those looking to make a big purchase within the generous introductory period.
The Citi Dividend Platinum Select comes with some of the blanket features from Citi; including free travel insurance, and free car rental insurance. The traveler is also aided in case of loss, with an emergency card replacement service. There is a 0% charge for unauthorized use, giving the cardholder the peace of mind against fraud.
To sum up, the Citi Dividend Platinum Select is ideal for those looking for a long introductory offer with 0% APR on purchases and cash back. While some may look for more rewards, the Dividend Platinum Select is a great card for keeping track of your rewards while you spend. The Citi Platinum Select MasterCard could well be the card for you if you are looking to cut the interest on any current credit cards you have, and take advantage of a highly rated card that is ideal for balance transfers. This MasterCard comes with 0% APR on both balance transfers and purchases for an introductory 21 months. After this interim period the percentage raises from between 11.99% and 21.99% depending on your credit score, however the 21 months prior should be plenty of time to pay off any outstanding card debt.
It is important to weigh up the pros and cons of any credit card to see if it suits your needs as a consumer. Luckily with the Citi Platinum Select the positives outweigh the negatives; here we will take an in-depth look at this card.
Credit Score Requirements
Firstly, what are the eligibility factors for the Citi Platinum Select. This card is only for those with good to excellent credit scores, with the average acceptance score being in the low 700’s. It is worth mentioning there are cases of scores of the mid 600’s being accepted, but these are comfortably the exception and not the rule.
One of the first things you will notice about the Citi Platinum Select is the level of security offered to its holders. There is little worse in the material world than being a victim of identity theft or fraud; but as a holder of a Platinum Select you are protected against unauthorized use of your card. Of course this is not a preventative measure, but is a comfort in knowing that you will not be paying if someone decides to take a holiday illegally at your expense.
The level of customer care and accessibility offered by Citibank to Citi Platinum Select users is commendable. Citi offer an email alert service which reminds you of upcoming payment dates and an impending breach of your credit limit. This may seem a simple feature, but it is very useful, as is the ability for Platinum Select card holders to access their account online.
Some other features which are worth mentioning range from having free travel and car rental insurance through to access to emergency card replacement if your Citi Platinum Select is lost.
Many similar balance transfer cards offer some kind of rewards program or cash back on purchases, unfortunately this is not offered by the Citi Platinum Select. While this is not a major gripe, it will mean some are put off by it.
For purchases made outside of the U.S there is a charge fee. It is not an incredibly taxing charge, and equates to around 3% of any purchase made against the dollar, regardless of currency. Again this is not a huge problem, but some may wish to shop around on the back of this charge.
Despite the above mentioned issues, the Platinum Select is an extremely good card, and even those put off by the cons are unlikely to find an over-all better package that meets other more important demands. With no annual fees, the Citi Platinum Select is perfect for those looking to consolidate under one card and take advantage of the low introductory interest rate.
